Nike‘s “Planet of Hoops” galaxy has gained a new member thanks to the Adapt BB 2.0. Likely a finale to the expansive Nike Basketball and Nike Sportswear pack that started its rollout in April, this new Adapt BB 2.0 offers a navy, crimson and volt green color scheme reminiscent of Kevin Durant‘s classic KD 4 “Nerf.”A rich navy blue is front and center on the upper, accented by a textured crimson Swoosh that swoops across the top of the foot. More crimson is present on the collar’s lining and the small outlined Swoosh on the medial side. Volt green gets in on the mix as well, appearing on tongue tabs and the heel badge — the latter of which adds a hand-scrawled “Planet of Hoops” graphic. Rounding things off up top are metallic silver tongues, toebox details and a sculpted heel piece with a clear to blue gradient fade.Down below, midsoles house the Adapt BB 2.0’s signature power lacing system, which tightens or loosens the Swoosh-equipped forefoot sheath on the upper and can be controlled from an app on the wearer’s iPhone or Android device. Its placement is denunciated by red-rimmed clear buttons, which can be used to manually tighten or loosen the fit and also light up in customizable colors. The rest of the midsole is dressed in navy with neon green speckles, and a semi-translucent neon green outsole with a patch of solid orange rubber where its forefoot Zoom Turbo unit is stored complete the look.
In celebration of LeBron James‘ place on the Los Angeles Lakers, Nike has put together a take on the LeBron Soldier 14 honoring the team’s signature yellow and gold color scheme.Similar to the tooling of the LeBron 7 “Lakers,” the upcoming release is centered around a mix and match look. The right side sports a bright yellow upper, while the left is done in purple. Each upper is accented by the alternate color and heat welded overlays of grey around the heel. Elevating the shoe are sole units that continue the mixed look. The left shoe features a grey midsole with a navy gridded segment paired with a black rubber outsole and the right comes complete with a white rubber outsole.
The Kyrie S2 Hybrid is the successor to the S1 version, and it’s introduced in one of its inaugural colorways. While release details are still scarce, the Kyrie S2 Hybrid essentially blends design elements from previous Kyrie silhouettes, including the Kyrie 4, 5, and 6. The model flaunts tooling from the Kyrie 4, flytrap lace cover from the Kyrie 5, and heel from the Kyrie 6. This particular pair is defined by the incorporation of graphics, tie-dye, and camouflage scattered throughout.
Following the success of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Nike Zoom Freak 1, today we get our first look at the Nike Zoom Freak 2. Giannis’ 2nd signature shoe with Nike takes on a low top construction and is highlighted by large bold Swooshes on the side panels. The shoe comes with a black mesh upper and a white midsole along with bronze detailing. Antetokounmpo’s logo appears on the lateral heel, the names of his parents Charles and Veronica are written on the outsole along with his “Greek Freak” nickname on the heel.
The “Sashiko” will soon be landing on not one, but two different Nike Kyrie models. In addition to the Nike Kybrid S2, the Kyrie Low 3 will also be releasing in a Sashiko colorway. An art form perfect for one of the game’s most unpredictable players. ‘Sashiko’—which translates into “little stabs” in Japanese—uses a single thread that takes multiple twists, turns and direction changes across an indigo blue fabric until it transforms into the artist’s unique vision. For Kyrie, that’s usually buckets. The design on this Nike Kyrie Low 3 also salutes Kyrie’s connection to skateboarding, with a Nike BB hit on the tongue and insoles that riffs on Nike SB’s logo.
